10 Strategies to Choose the Right Career Path
Book Cover Design · Workbooks · Longform Content · Graphic Design
Focus: Creative Direction · Editorial Design · Longform Content · Brand positioning · Ebook content strategy · Copywriting · Digital product development · UX & reader experience
Project Overview
The second edition of 10 Strategies to Choose the Right Career Path required a refreshed visual identity aimed at a younger audience (ages 18–34). The goal was to communicate clarity, momentum, and purpose immediately—transforming a practical career guide into a compelling, visually driven experience.
The design positions career choice as a journey rather than a single decision. By combining modern visual language with symbolic cues, the cover and accompanying editorial elements convey focus, self-discovery, and alignment—helping readers approach career planning with confidence and clarity.
Editorial & Design Strategy
The project focused on creating a visual system that balances professional credibility with personal growth. Every design decision—from typography to layout to symbolic imagery—supports understanding, engagement, and a sense of progression.
Design Goals
Communicate clarity and forward momentum at first glance
Translate abstract career concepts into visual metaphors for focus and growth
Maintain a tone that feels professional yet approachable
Support reader confidence and engagement throughout the guide
Design Contributions
Developed the creative direction and visual identity for the second edition
Designed the cover and typographic hierarchy to reinforce clarity and progression
Incorporated symbolic visual elements to represent focus, momentum, and self-discovery
Ensured balance between professional authority and personal, approachable tone
Strategic Outcome
The final design transforms a career guide into a visually engaging tool that communicates clarity, purpose, and forward direction. The system reinforces professional credibility while resonating with younger readers—encouraging reflection, decision-making, and actionable growth.
Illuminated
Physical & EBook · Editorial Design · Illustration · Longform Content
Focus: Poetry Book · Editorial System · Digital Strategy · Conversion Design
Project Overview
Illuminated is a debut poetry collection exploring the intersection of identity, faith, and emotional struggle. The content confronts depression, trauma, family dysfunction, and spiritual doubt—without offering easy resolution. Instead, it invites readers into honesty, reflection, and healing.
The editorial design was built to support this emotional weight. Drawing from illuminated manuscripts, the system treats text as sacred—using restraint, pacing, and structure to slow the reader and create space for meaning. The result is an experience that feels intentional, intimate, and grounded rather than decorative or trend-driven.
This was not designed as a single artifact, but as a cohesive brand experience—from book to website to retail platform—supporting discovery, trust, and conversion.
Editorial Design Strategy
The book unfolds across four thematic sections, each representing a layer of identity and belief. The design reinforces this progression through controlled pacing, typographic hierarchy, and visual breathing room.
Design Goals
Encourage slow, intentional engagement
White space as a tool for reflection
Consistent rhythm to support long-form reading
Subtle symbolic framing that never competes with the text
Results: A system that allows readers to sit with difficult truths, return to passages for journaling, and experience the work as both literary and devotional.
Editorial Contributions
Defined the creative and strategic vision for Illuminated from initial concept through final execution
Developed the editorial design system, including typographic hierarchy, layout logic, and pacing across the full manuscript
Structured the book’s four-section narrative to support emotional progression, reflection, and reader immersion
Designed and managed all visual elements, including symbolic framing, visual rhythm, and production-ready layouts
Digital Strategy
From discovery → trust → conversion
To extend the book beyond print, I designed and managed a custom website, as a brand and conversion hub.
Custom Website — highesttruest.com
The site translates the contemplative tone of the book into a digital environment while serving clear performance goals:
Top of funnel: discovery through narrative-led messaging and SEO-friendly content
Mid funnel: trust-building via thematic excerpts, author positioning, and visual continuity
Bottom of funnel: clear conversion paths to purchase and engagement
Amazon A+ Content
To optimize conversion at the point of sale, I designed Amazon A+ content that distills the book’s themes into scannable, narrative-led visuals. The content reinforces emotional alignment, clarifies audience fit, and strengthens confidence at the decision moment.
Digital Objectives
Increase discovery through clear narrative positioning
Build emotional alignment before purchase
Reduce friction between curiosity and conversion
Digital Contributions
Led digital strategy and execution, translating the book’s contemplative tone into a conversion-aware website experience
Designed, launched, and maintained the custom website as a discovery and sales funnel
Created Amazon A+ content to support product clarity, emotional alignment, and point-of-sale conversion
Oversaw all creative decisions across print and digital to ensure consistency, clarity, and performance
Strategic Outcome
Illuminated functions as both an intimate literary work and a scalable brand experience. The project demonstrates how emotionally complex content can be translated into a cohesive system that supports reflection and performance across platforms—without compromising tone, integrity, or audience trust.
